Hot off the presses! Had the lovely opportunity to work on this lil beauty at Gentleman Scholar. My segments are 00:25-00:48 and 01:22-01:27. Got to work with a great animation team! It screened last week in France during the G20 summit for the VIPs of the global economy.
New reel! I decided it’s time to separate my work into two reels, one for motion graphics and one for character animation. First up, motion graphics!

A collection of portraits I completed in the drawing class I took this past quarter through Santa Monica College. The teacher was amazing and the experience was even better than I expected! Next quarter, figure painting….
About a week ago me and my buddies launched a Kickstarter to raise funds for our indie short, Muffin Buds.

Written by my friend Eric Aldama, it’s the silly story of two muffin rommates, their landlord (a cookie that includes figs, maybe named after Isaac Newton), friends, and acquaintances. It’s a regular baker’s dozen of kooky baked characters! I’m hoping to have the opportunity to sit out of the freelance grind for just a couple of weeks to do some zany, liberated, cel-style animation. Having something to enter into a film festival has always been a dream of mine. We have til Halloween to reach the 5K goal, super psyched!

I’ve been taking some really fun drawing classes this Fall at Santa Monica College. This is just a preview doodle, some notes taken during class. Will post a complete set of portraits when the quarter officially ends next week.

Just some ol’ fashioned ink on paper for a friend’s birthday surprise. The biggest challenge for me about birthday card art is getting it to the party without accidentally destroying it on the way (or during the party). This one was a success!
Recently premiered on Paste Magazine, this is a music video we made for our good friend and fantastic musician Brian Keenan. I got to do stop motion and cel-style for this one! The video was directed by Ben Yonda (that guy I’m married to), and made with help from our amazing friends and colleagues Mike Wechsler, Caroline Freedman, Brad Walter, and Jen Browning. Hard work, but had a blast!
Get ready for some updates around here (they are LONG overdue)! First off, here’s a fun project I did earlier this year for a fellow NYU alumni and budding children’s media aficionado Christina Zagarino. She won a scholarship from the Fred Rogers Memorial Foundation and produced Big Top Fitness, a series of entertaining shorts encouraging exercise and play through circus arts. The artwork above was made to help promote her screenings in May.
It was a total blast to have the recent honor of working with Three Legged Legs on their latest spot for Virgin + Method. I was an animator on this one and had a great time learning a new pipeline- animating traditionally in Photoshop instead of Flash. Of course theres some After Effects trickery in there too…but I won’t tell where! Muahaha!
Full credits on the Vimeo page! It was a small team, just three of us ‘animators’, although the three directors wore many hats as well. Altogether one of the most cohesive and fun teams I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Wow, now I’m up to two cartoon appearances. This one of course fashioned by those great dudes at Three Legged Legs. Loved this project!
